Bohermore Ladies Club

The Bohermore Ladies Club was the first community group to be formed in Bohermore and went on to become part of the Bohermore Community Project. Our first group meeting was held in No. 13 St. Finbarr’s Terrace, Bohermore in October 1982. 37 years later, we are still a strong group with good, lifelong friendships formed. We are now a group of 15 as some of our members passed on but they are very often remembered with love and happiness. We have been involved in various activities including painting, decoupage and many different arts and crafts.
Throughout the years we have participated in many fundraising events for charities at home and abroad.

We visited Áras an Uachtaráin in 2004where we met President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin. One of our greatest achievements to date has to be the publication of our book “Thirty Years of Memories and Stories”. This contained many fond memories of bygone days and was a huge success. As a group we have traveled the length and breadth of Ireland for both educational and recreational purposes. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Sr. Maura Winston (RIP) who helped form our group and stuck with us through thick and thin. We also thank our funders; without their help and support many of our activities would not have been possible. We meet every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. and welcome new members. The Bohermore Community Project CLG would like to congratulate the Bohermore Ladies Group on their 37th anniversary.
